-Newsletter- Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine: SC-ACOEP
The SC-ACOEP officers met last week to discuss events and activities for the school year of 1999-2000. In this newsletter you will find a listing of activities planned for students.
We will have at least three of the following clinical skills workshops: 1.) Casting/splinting clinic 2.) Suturing clinic 3.) Reading common radiographs ordered in the ER 4.) Spinal immobilization
Lunchtime speakers will be provided throughout the year involving the following topics 1.) Residency programs and applications 2.) The day in the life of an EM resident 3.) Clinical topics and case studies
Students will be able to sign up for clinical shadowing programs at the following hospitals: 1.) Provident 2.) West Suburban 3.) Edgewater 4.) Cook County
There will also be the opportunity to participate in the paramedic ride-along program with the city of Chicago EMS.
This year we will once again have a health fair at Woodale Junior High. This has been a big success in the past and is enjoyable for both medical students and junior high students.
